Concern Khlibprom plans to reduce the cost of paper packaging by 30%

Concern Khlibprom has introduced the practice of packaging containers recycling, which allows to lower the costs of cardboard production by up to 30% at the manufacturing division of the Confectionery Shop (CS). Last year we used 85.5 tons of corrugated cardboard packaging for more than 10 million items at this manufacturing shop.

In 2014 Confectionary Shop introduced the practice of reutilization of a part of the packaging that will save 30 tons of paper and save over 300 mature trees from being cut down. The economic gain for the company Concern Khlibprom will constitute 227 thousand UAH saved per year.

Secondary packaging is not only a part of company’s economic policy, but is also a part of the updated strategy of corporate social responsibility for Concern Khlibprom.

"The problem of resource savings is particularly topical for the sustainable development of an enterprise that develops long-term relationships with the community in terms of exhausting natural resources," says Yulia Lebedeva, Communications Manager of the Company. "We will vigorously keep on introducing the means of resource savings at our enterprises making active use of the experience of our Western colleagues."

According to Yulia Lebedeva, the EU Eco-innovation Action Program recognizes sustainable utilization of resources as one of the priority directions. The well-established system of accounting and analytics of the enterprise helps to boldly follow this direction. Concern Khlibprom has adopted this system and has already felt the first positive effects of its work.
